@Forbes #myforbesidea contest
Just received an email from Forbes inviting me to look at their new Twitter contest. Forbes is running the #myforbesidea contest until April 25th.
“@Forbes is running a Twitter contest and to win you have to come up with the best idea for a Twitter contest. We’ll run the contest with your idea and see how great it works. The winner will be featured in an article about Twitter contests published on Forbes.com in early May.” Source
This is my #myforbesidea :
Forbes readership is amongst the most affluent and influential people in the world. Their magazine and online version provide valuable, notable and respected information to management across the planet. Forbes publishes lists about companies, people, and celebrities…even on fictional characters.
@forbes has joined Twitter on Nov 20, 2009 and has a following of 661* on Twitter.
- The contest objective would be to gain more followers and nurture quality conversation on the Twitter account.
- Contest name: #Forbesnextlist
- Ask : what is the next Forbes list You want to see ?
- Participants should be able to enter the name of the list on an online form on forbes.com and be able to tweet about it to their network. (Example: @karimacatherine just suggested #Forbesnextlist, >>> link, give it a try! ) thus, the contest becomes viral as each participant promotes it to their network.
- The winner could be selected on the ground of creativity, relevance and brand value. If two or more people vote for the same, time of entrance will prevail.
-The contest will use crowdsourcing to collect data and reader insight, that will allow Forbes to keep dialogue open towards building relationships with the participants beyond the contest. Furthermore, this will drive traffic back to the Forbes website.
*Twitter followers count as of April 19,2010

This is a really great idea, presented well, simple to implement and the very probable viral nature make it a natural and true winner on twitter. Not sure I can come up with anything better. Well done.
